Artistamps Workshop:
Happy Accidents

Moorish Crash Landings U can Use
Sometimes things just drop into your lap. Where they come from, who knows! But they can bring something wonderful and unexpected into your artwork, sometimes adding just that right touch, at others taking it in another direction ... or totally transforming it.
Such a case happened with the above stamp. I was using it as a template to create another stamp, and had moved on from life path 1 aeronautics and air balloons to an engraving of a palm tree. And there, suddenly before I knew it, was a parachute hanging off a palm tree like a downed WW II pilot.
What was I to do? Why did this mysterious guest want to land in my artwork. Only playing with the images would help me figure it out.
You can see that by playing with the size and scale, the pilot was well and truly stranded, but did make a safe landing she could easily get out if he made a short leap of faith ... the ground being only a man's height below the basket.
Did the pilot ever get out?
Or is s/he still hanging there?
Ghost Images
Well ... a few ghost images buried behind the stamp decided to pop up ... and thus an arabic rose compass and a navigation symbol arrived on the scene to help out.

Perhaps we need to send a search party to Batoc Island?
I wonder if air balloonists still travel with chilled champagne?
