The Fifth Aspect of Work You Love
Are you looking for work that inspires you and allows you to live the life you dream of? There are a lot of great jobs out there, but few that can both inspire you and pay you handsomely enough to live out your dreams.
Too often the life we end up living bears little resemblance to our childhood dreams. Getting a good job, paying the bills, washing the dishes and taking out the trash takes the place of the heroic deeds and great accomplishments we dreamed our life would be filled with. Many people wake up to this fact when they reach their forties and have a mid-life crisis. Often that crisis is about realizing they feel trapped -- living lives they would never have consciously chosen.
But life does not have to end up like that. If you dream of going to the opening nights of Broadway plays, there are jobs which supports that -- working in New York City as a journalist, hotel concierge or in theater security for example.
Living an extraordinary life, and having a livelihood that supports it, does not mean that you must give up all the things that are a part of modern life -- college, marriage, home ownership, children, promotions, family vacations, putting the kids through college, retirement and travel.
